A mixed decimal is a number consisting of a non-zero integer together with a decimal fraction.
Examples
Example: $27 \cdotp 63$
The number $27 \cdotp 63$ is a mixed decimal intepreted as:
\(\ds 27 \cdotp 63\) | \(=\) | \(\ds 27 + \dfrac 6 {10} + \dfrac 3 {100}\) | ||||||||||||
\(\ds \) | \(=\) | \(\ds 27 + \paren {6 \times 10^{-1} } + \paren {3 \times 10^{-2} }\) |
