Let $\map f x = a x^6 + b x^5 + c x^4 + d x^3 + e x^2 + f x + g$ be a polynomial function over a field $\mathbb k$ of degree $6$.
Then the equation $\map f x = 0$ is the general sextic equation over $\mathbb k$.
