A uniqueness theorem is a theorem which asserts that only one particular type of object exists.
Examples
Parallel Planes
The theorem that states:
- Given a plane and a point $P$ not on that plane, only one plane can pass through $P$ parallel to the given plane
is a uniqueness theorem.
