Made a first attempt at organizing them here. --barto (talk) (contribs) 14:20, 14 November 2017 (EST)

Possible improvements:

  • Expand the scope of {{IncomingLinks}} to all pages with wrong incoming links.
  • Clarify the scope of {{WIP}}: should it mean that it is incomplete in a severe way, e.g. only half of a definition? Or {{inuse}}?
  • Clarify {{stub}}, difference with {{WIP}} if any, perhaps disuse because it carries the meaning of "too short", while short is our standard.
  • More meaningful names for {{improve}} and {{rewrite}}, e.g. {{inelegant}} or {{improve argument}} resp. {{improve style}}.
  • Merge {{duplicate}} with {{mergeto}}?
  • Perhaps discourage using {{tidy}} and {{work to do}}, something more specific instead.
  • More meaningful name for {{help}}, e.g. {{expert needed}}

Not exhaustive. --barto (talk) (contribs) 14:54, 14 November 2017 (EST)

Eliminated {{WIP}}. Stub and wtd should do the job. — Lord_Farin (talk) 17:19, 15 November 2017 (EST)

Design

{{MaintenanceTemplate}} has been expanded, having been renamed from Ambox as suggested.

Also suggested: style can be improved, and can be simplified by requiring that the image always be passed in from the calling template. No need for a case statement, that adds unnecessary maintenance burden.

Work in progress. --prime mover (talk) 11:33, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
