Welcome to ProofWiki! Since you're new, you may want to check out the general help page. It's the best first stop to see how things are done (next to reading proofs, of course!). Please feel free to contribute to whichever area of mathematics interests you, either by adding new proofs, or fixing up existing ones. If you have any questions please feel free to contact one of the administrators, or post your question on the questions page.

Here are some useful pages to help get you started:

  • Community Portal - To see what needs to be done, and keep up to date with the community.
  • Recent Changes - To keep up with what's new, and what's being added.
  • Check out our house style if you are keen on contributing.
  • Main Page talk - This is where most of the main discussions regarding the direction of the site take place. If you have any ideas, please share them!

Thank you! I have edited Definition:Perfect_Digit-to-Digit_Invariant. I noticed that the section #Sequence does not give the reference to OEIS, but if one clicks on the section title, on the page Definition:Perfect_Digit-to-Digit_Invariant/Sequence, the reference is given. Is this usual practice? I think it is counter-productive. (Will readers know that they have to go to the /Sequence subpage to have the full information?) Since I'm new, I'll leave it as is. - MFH (talk) 20:40, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
Yes, this is how we do it on $\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$.
Users are encouraged to learn how a MediaWiki site works. It is expected that those interested in mathematics are good learners.
I reversed out your changes because a) they did not use $\LaTeX$ and b) they had linguistic mistakes.
I rewrote it, as the information has merit. --prime mover (talk) 20:48, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply. I do know how MediaWiki works, I'm WP editor since 20+ years, and active in a dozen of others MediaWikis... I do know about < includeonly > etc. I was asking about this "local convention" which is IMO not very common. But OK, I acknowledge and will follow this practice, of course. I hope I will learn quickly about other particular practices used here. - MFH (talk) 21:28, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
$\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$ is hypermodular. All mathematics is written as much as possible with a self-evolved language where the tags have semantic meaning, hence $\set {a, b, c}$ rather than $\{a, b, c\}$ and its embellishments. Feel free to browse Symbols:LaTeX Commands/ProofWiki Specific which contains about everything. Available under the link "$\mathsf{Pr} \infty \mathsf{fWiki}$ $\LaTeX$ commands" top leftish on the screen. Much used concepts get their symbols by a process of gradual evolution. No plan, but it's worked out well enough so far.
We aim to be as simple as possible to navigate, so any emergent AI that gradually assembles to intelligence to hunt down mathematical knowledge has as easy a machine-AI interface as possible. --prime mover (talk) 22:24, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
The drive to rewrite everything from that PoV is mostly complete, although there are some older pages.
Can't stop to discuss this tonight, I have domestic things to attend to. --prime mover (talk) 22:24, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
