Examples of Almost Perfect Numbers

$16$ is an almost perfect number.


Proof 1

The divisors of $16$, not including $16$ itself are:

$1, 2, 4, 8$

Thus we have:

$1 + 2 + 4 + 8 = 15 = 16 - 1$

Hence the result by definition of almost perfect.


Proof 2

We have that:

$16 = 2^4$

and so is a power of $2$.

The result follows from Power of 2 is Almost Perfect.
